i like it, may not take all the load off the tailgate but im sure it takes some. That's pretty damn nice for "jury rigged"... Maybe if you extended the sheetmedal to th front of the bed that way all wheels are on it

Thanks for the feedback from all. The diamond plate is bolted to the steel tubing and is long enough that it bridges over the tailgate and touches the bed. Hard to tell from the pictures and because of the bedrug but no weight is on the tailgate (can freely move up with one hand) when loading/unloading or transporting. The ramps were kept short to make it less akward to carry/attach.

I trust steel tubing and the diamond plate suppoted on the bed and by the hitch a lot more than 2 steel cables with me and a 800+lbs ATV so to each his own I guess. Material was lying around so cost a little time and can of primer and paint cheap in my opion compared to replacing a tailgate.

Might want to do something to protect your bedrug. When the aluminum flexes, the end of your ramps are going to be rubbing back and forth on it. It would be a bummer to tear it up.

I was a bit concerned about the bedrug as well but no problems so far can't even tell something was on it and have put the ATV in and out probably a couple dozen times and driven 1000 miles that way now.

Let's see the matching tailgate bypass loading ramp?
The hitch idea is a great one, I just think they need to do something to firm up the aluminum, maybe use 12" wide planks? That hitch idea as someone has said has been around for the Dakota so you could put 8 ft and more drywall etc. without it sitting on the wheel wells because they were less than 4 feet between them. If you had the bed liner before u could put 3 boards that caused the drywall to sit higher than the inner wells and then could hang on on to the hitch bar that you can make or buy, they had width adjustment and height and length.
As far as the bedrug, numb nuts, look it up I have it too it works as well but with less damage to your truck than the plastic rubbing on it. Look it up it is acid, oil, gas, proof and you just power wash it out, drys quickly on it's own. Do your research.

Hey I have a cool suggestion for you for your truck, get yourself on over to Canadian tire and get some bullet hole stickers that would be groovy, maybe some more chrome, snap on handles and mirrors to go with the gas door? Man that would be cool. Sorry man but you gotta also do us all a favour when you post pics to not make them so wide they change the f g page so to read other peoples important posts your pictures that we have all seen a million times, we have to scroll sideways...get over your truck man it's not all that.

I am talking about in some of the other threads you posted like 3 pics or so beside each other, you know what...I am not gonna bother. You are just too much and if you have something to say to me, don't put it in PM's, put them where all can read.

Had the bedrug in my 04 with a tonneau, IMO the best thing there is, it handled my ATV trips to Tenn. from Fla. no problem, after six years it still looked brand new, just took my ATV to Tenn in March in my 09, had no problem with the tailgate or cables, 14 hour trip.
