Hauling ATV in short Bed
Thanks for the feedback from all. The diamond plate is bolted to the steel tubing and is long enough that it bridges over the tailgate and touches the bed. Hard to tell from the pictures and because of the bedrug but no weight is on the tailgate (can freely move up with one hand) when loading/unloading or transporting. The ramps were kept short to make it less akward to carry/attach.
I trust steel tubing and the diamond plate suppoted on the bed and by the hitch a lot more than 2 steel cables with me and a 800+lbs ATV so to each his own I guess. Material was lying around so cost a little time and can of primer and paint cheap in my opion compared to replacing a tailgate.

I wish they had the option of the 6.4' or 8' bed on the CC
Had the bedrug in my 04 with a tonneau, IMO the best thing there is, it handled my ATV trips to Tenn. from Fla. no problem, after six years it still looked brand new, just took my ATV to Tenn in March in my 09, had no problem with the tailgate or cables, 14 hour trip.
I disagree with one thing, I would not trust those cables, I put an ezlower ram on it so the cable down take that slam when it slips out of your wife or your kids hands, never your just theirs, you hear it everytime SLAM they open it the just let go not anymore I love that little guy.
