Good place to buy spare Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) with Integrated Ignition?
Hey guys,
Does anyone know of a good place to buy a spare Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) with Integrated Ignition keyfob? I know that I will be wishing I had at least one extra some day
.
Personally, although there seems to be some security benefits with this type of fob I am not a big fan of not having the option of having extra keys all over the place.

You can find them on Ebay, but make sure they are not used because they will be unable to program them to your truck. There is new ones listed though, just make sure the nubers on the back of your remote match up with the one you buy, they run around $90.
The only ones I can find on ebay are for the Chargers. Will a Charger "key" fit a Ram key? If I have both of the originals does my new one have to be "blank" or brand new or can I buy a 2nd hand one? I'm not having much luck so far and there always seems to be questions with the ones that I do find.
Thanks.

Thanks.
If you have two functioning keys you can program a third yourself. The procedure is in the owners manual. If you only have one functioning key, the dealer has to programm the new one and that's all the reason I need to have an extra. $90 key my ****; someone should be fired for that.
I didn't know it had to be a new key. I thought it could be any key. So it's a one shot deal? Once programmed it can never be used on another vehicle? What if the SKIM module takes a dump; do I have to get all new keys, too?

As per an installation manual for Dodge remote start programing:
NOTE: If the original keys do not successfully program to the new WIN after the proper procedures are followed
correctly, programming new keys will be necessary.
NOTE: A maximum of eight keys can be learned by the WIN. Once a key is learned by a WIN, that key has acquired
the Secret Key for that WIN and cannot be transferred to any other vehicle.
Sounds to me like a used key will NOT work if it has already been programed to another vehicle, because of the embedded security applied to the fob by the WIN.
Hope this helps.

I have found keys in the past that matched so I was sure it matched a RAM. Be sure to match up so you will not be sorry.
