Well, as we're bitchin' ...

I think the chrome trim looks just great. It matches the appearance of the entire truck. No, it doesn't bother my eyes, and if it did, it would be only in the same way as the light reflecting from my wife's wedding ring. No problem whatsoever.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, of course, and that's fine. My opinion is that I would rather smear my brand new $32k truck with dog**** than take a can of hoodlum paint to it. YMMV.

actually no one said it HAD to be spray paint. you could have it professionally sprayed to look like all of the other painted plastic in the truck.....

I agree, the chrome is perfect, especially on the laramie since it has more chrome accents. On a few rare occasions I noticed a glare from it but nothing serious.

The paint I used was house of kolors gloss black. The only think I regret is painting the piece with the shifter and not prepping the already black plastic a little better.

Hey i stoped at a light today and the sun reflected off the chrome ring around the shifter and blinded me. I couldnt even tell when the light turned green. This is a major problem, someone needs to come up with a solution

All I can say is WHY? WHY? WHY? you could have just put some window tint on the chrome or something like that, even a clear piece of protective tape, like the stuff used outside on some spots, that would have taken the shine off and looked ok, All black dash was what I didn't like about the new chevy's the all black dash. Anyway your truck, I could not do that to something I paid that much for, you just need a wing now, any black paint left?

Quote: So just because you dont like an all black dash means I shouldnt? Here let me be as narrow minded as you...Chrome is for ***gots. Oh and by the way I have 5% tint on the brow/side windows/ and rear window and I still get the reflection. I like how you think clear tape would look better lol. You sound like a guy who would spend $2000 at jc whitney buying every possible chrome piece you could stick on your truck.
This thread is full of anger!

I like the black, but I am going to keep my chrome. 1, because I am too lazy/busy. 2, because I like the chrome inside, plus I don't have a blinding console.

I commend you for doing something different in your truck, I think it looks good. Good work.
