ok, i was thinking some of you guys were being over sensitive about the chrome ring. I WAS WRONG!! lol. that thing sucks. has anyone tried to take it off and paint it? i noticed someone on here painted their chrome grille. given it started chipping, but thats with high speed objects hitting it. im assuming it would probably be okay inside the cab. was either thinking going flat black to match the shifter plastic or same silver gloss to match the rest of the counsole......

 

I was the one who painted the chrome grille. As of right now the chrome ring along with some other interior parts are all out of the truck and ready for paint tomorrow.

 

what we talking about here? Does this only pertain to interiors with center console?

 

All of the silver trim in my Sport CC has been acid dipped to look like carbon fiber. All except the center ring LOL. I love the look with the black interior and dash of the sport. My dealer had it done before I bought the truck. I will call and find out the company that did it. I hate the sun's reflection from the center ring too. I will try to get the info for you.

 

I'm sure we will see a change on the 2010. Maybe we can just buy a new one through parts department.

If not, I'm painting mine.

 

Yes, it is the chrome ring that surrounds the shifter. It is THE reason I did not get a center console in my truck.

 

Be sure to post some pics of the new paint installed.

 

weve got esp (electronic speed prohibitor) weve got a speed limiter set to some stupid level, just as i get up to speed for the slow lane on the houston toll road the speed limiter kicks in and kia's and saturn's go wizzing by in the fast lane. and a tranny that wont kick down at 75-80 unless you grab the shifter and yank it 4 times to the left! These are serious problems that need to be addressed right away. hell if you fix those 3 problems ill let you paint my entire center conosole pink.

I don't consider that my truck is not a car a serious problem. I also don't consider that my speed limiter needs to be any higher than it is. If you want to go fast, buy a sports car.
