Remote Start radio Question
I just installed a Avic F90bt headunit in my truck. When i would remote start the truck with the stock radio, it would go on with the truck. Now with the Avic, i need to put the key in the on position. Anybody know what wires need to be spliced in order for the new unit to start with remote startup. Thanks

well it sounds like your acc is not going hot with the remote start but only when the key is forward, this is probably a security feature and is computer controlled. You'll have to find a lead that goes hot when the truck is in remote start as well as when the key is in the forward position, probably a different acc wire. Not worth it if you ask me
Don't get me wrong, I'm just asking because I'm curious, but why does it matter if the radio comes on with remote start? My previous vehicle had an aftermarket system and the radio never came on with remote start, which was fine because I mainly used it to warm the vehicle up in the winter and cool it down in the summer prior to me getting in. Once I would get in, I put the key in and go. If I'm not in the vehicle, why would I care if the radio was on? Just curious on why this would be desirable. Thanks.
The Avic unit takes a little time to load maps on GPS when started. So if i was walking towards truck can remote start it and when i am ready to drive music is playing and im happy.

Maybe you should have gone with a faster loading unit?
Sorry, I'm of no help on the wire, but another acc wire to something that does turn on when the truck is remote started would definitely be the key here...

Another thing I noticed with remote start is you can leave the AC on when exiting the truck, but when you remote start it, the AC has to be turned on again. Not a big deal, but on a hot day it would be nice.
Should the AC resume normal operation when remote starting?
