Took my truck to the drag strip yesterday.
Conditions:
Elevation-6,000ft
Humidity- Desert
Temp- 85F
Truck- 09 Ram SLT QC 5.7 Hemi, Bone stock.
Best Time: 15.809 at 88.7mph (this run was my 17th run after i ate some lunch so my truck had been sitting and had cooled off)
Coolist thing i saw all day: A 90 something red lifted doge 2500 or 3500 Cummings diesel. do a 9 second run.
AVG of 23 runs was about 16.4
Some stuff i did:
Put some of that pure octane stuff in on about half a tank of gas which was 91 octane.
Settings:
Best results i got were turning the ESP off, at the light have my foot on the break and rev the engine (seemed to get a better takeoff). Also using the slap stick shifter and shifting on every gear right before the rev limiter kicked in. I would finish the quarter mile in 3rd gear.
Tried it in all sorts of configurations even ran it in 4wd but the best results are stated above.
Moving to New Orleans in a few weeks can not wait to see what "Frosty" will do below sea level.

15.6 is not too shabby for a 5500 lb vehicle.
yes, it does have the 3:55. So to get down to the 14 seconds i would have to put the 3.92 in the rear end? How much would that cost me to have my dealer put it in there with the LSD and all. I was not even looking for that when i bought the truck. darn. I thought i was not getting the time simply because of elevation.

I am going to guess it would cost upwards of 1000$ just for the rear gears and limited slip, add another 300-400$ for the front gears.

I do have the 3.92 with the limited slip, I looked at the sticker and on the left hand side it says i have the 3.55 unless replaced with optional equipment, then on the right hand said it says i have the 3.92 with the LSD which was an option of $375. NOW WHY WONT MY TRUCK LIGHT UP THE TIRES LIKE EVERYONE ELSE WITH THE 3.92, how much does elevation make a difference? now im going to the garage and make sure I have the 3.92 in that truck....

It should light them up, especially with traction control off. Also, it won't spin them on a regular road? Sometimes tracks have traction compounds left over on them as well as rubber and it is harder to spin tires, which is a good thing at the track.
Just got out from under her and it does have the 3.92 says it on the rear axle on the passenger side.
I have the 20x9 aluminum chrome clad wheels with the P275/60R20 OWL all season tires, I have never been able to smoke the tires even with the ESP button on. yes even on normal pavement.
