Default Synthetic oil change

I did my first oil change (2400 miles) and have lost power. I went with Valvoline 5-20 Full Synthetic. Now the truck has a loss in power and no get up and go until higher RPMs. Truck will not down shift very well and I have lost down shifting at 75 mph. I have driven about 100 miles since the oil change and its still the same. Should I pull the oil and change back to stock type oil? I had NO problems until I changed the oil and it was noticeable as soon as I went for a drive after the oil change.

Maybe the guys knocked a wire loose from the trans or something else, sometimes the guys doing oil changes are so big under there that they might as well be shoving tree stumps up there in your engine compartment. I would look for that first before dumping $$$ worth oil.

I watched them the whole time they worked on the truck but I will check. I didnt see any thing wrong. I did see them change a filter and add oil to a truck without draining it. They then started that truck gave it a little gas, shut it off and checked the level, then asked the guy how much oil he put in it. That truck was drained and redone and the guy in the pit was fired on the spot. Hope that guys truck will be ok. So with that I was watching them like a hawk.

I switched to synthetic at 7000 miles. No problems at all. Still has all the power it used to.

I assume you pulled the dipstick and made sure that they didn't over fill/under fill yours? Also open up the filter box and make sure they didn't pump a bunch of oil onto the filter if they fired it up over full.

ILMAO, I can't see how the correct oil change would have anything to do with that. To clarify, I m laughing at your comment and not sking, lol

They didn't fill the transmission with oil did they? I would go make sure there is only transmission fluid in there.

Too much fluid in an automatic transmission can cause shifting problems, torque converter problems, etc. It could feel as if the truck lost power.

They did that to my nieces 08 Toyota truck, she told me that the oil plug was on the tranny, I thought, no way, lol. They did have to replace her tranny though, screwed it all up. I never did look into where the plug actually is on that thing, I had just bought my 09 and was still on sky high

No I watched their every move. They only touched the drain plug, dipstick and oil filter. Nothing else. I just checked the truck after it has sat for a while and its about 1/2 over the top line of the safe mark (to the bend above safe mark).
