Default Hail Damage to Truck

We had a pretty bad hail storm Thursday night and my truck was in the driveway (doesn't really fit in the garage). I now have about 4 dings on the hood and 15 on the cab. None anywhere else. The truck was mostly shielded by the house.

I also had a shingle (from not my roof) fall on the truck and it scratched the windshield and put some really thin and light scratches on the hood. I have a $250 deductible and I'm still trying to decide if I should get it fixed or just live with it. It's a truck, so it does add some character....

The house got hit harder (cracked windows, fence knocked down, etc.) so I'll be spending $1,000 to cover that deductible there already.

Hail in June!

Depends on you i guess. Couple of dings and scratches arent going to make me run out and claim on my insurance. You said it right, it's a truck

That sucks man, hope repairs go well for ya. About 6 years ago we had golfball hail that hit my house and 98 Dak. I had a great body shop do my work and the truck never looked better.

Yeah... I'm worried about repainting the hood or them trying to cover up the scratch. The stuff on the roof of the cab you can't really see and it's only a few dings on the hood... I'm bound to get more at some point in time.

Sorry to hear it. It is a truck! I have a big dent in the bottom of the cab of mine from a curb.

Man that bites! We got hail at the house last night and there was a tornado just west of town. Thankfully, the new shop has a roof on it, the 2500 can go in there and the 1500 fits in the garage. The weather here in Tx has been a bit weird this year.

Guess you could get a good PDR fix. That way you don't have to get it repainted.

I recently purchased a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500,single cab,Hemi and 4x4.I had a 2007 Ford f-150 and incured hail damage about 3 weeks ago of about $2300(insurance estimate),did'nt look as bad as that. The point is this,I had a $1000 deductible and the hail damage would've been fixed by a hail damage expert(many appeared in my town overnight) for $1400,lol,lol.The hail damage expert informed me that hail damage claims do not raise your rates,I researched that claim,it's correct.I would make the claim, you pay your premiums, get paid. You don't have to get every ding fixed.

P.S. I traded the Ford in for the Dodge Ram Hemi, kept the $1300 from the insurance and drove down the road at a high rate of speed.
