Question Interesting Find

Hi All:
Had the truck up on the lift for the Mufflex install and had a chance to check the underside out. When looking at the front spindles we noticed they were for splined for the 4WD axels. My truck is 2WD. Could be a cost savings or? This is an early build, 08.18.08, so it could be any number of reasons. Any one else with 2WD have these spimdles?

On a lift for a mufflex install? I did it on the ground.

No idea about that spindle 2WD thing.

We have lots of 2wd 5500's and they are all splined for the 4wd axles, it's dodge way of saving funds, same wheel hub for all trucks...

I am glad your physical abillites allow you to lie on your back to perform the Mufflex swap, and I hope you can still do it when you are 65 years old, as I am.

Hey Jimf5, which length muffler kit did you get? How do you like it and do you have any drone?

I got the 18" 5.7 single exahust. It turns heads in the small city i live in and the highway drone is liveable. It only took 15 min. to install once it was on the "Lift".

That's great to hear. Debating between the 24 and 18. Thought the 24 would be too close to the stock Sport muffler to justify the swap. Sounds like 18 is the way to go.
