Default Remote Start & AC

My AC will not operate when using the remote start. I leave it (AC) turned on. If I remote start the truck the fans blow but the AC indicator lights do not come on.

I took this up with the dealer and they said it should work. After 2 hours with them on the phone with the Mopar gods, they said the key must be in the ignition for the AC to operate. Not checking this I left. I found out that indeed it will come on without the key (remote FOB) in the ignition. Just push the AC button and it comes on fine. I went to another dealer today and they said it should work too. They are to verify with whomever regarding this issue, and call me with the answer.

Does anyone have this issue? Is there a fix for this problem? The remote is rendered useless in the summer. I have the 5.7 litre Hemi, Crew, SLT. Manual air, no special AC features. Thanks in Advance.

My lights will NOT come on period unless I have the temp control(middle ****) in the "max ac" position and the first **** NOT in its lowest position(off)

I dont have remote start, but with just regular driving this is what I have noticed. What settings are your ***** in?

I have ATC and my AC comes on during remote start. I assume both of you have the standard HVAC controls? I would expect them to work as well... Strange that it doesn't.

My A/C comes on fine with the remote start. Great option here in Texas!

Do you have ATC as well or the standard controls?

Default possible solution

This might be a possible solution, turn your air direction to defrost that might allow your air cond. to activate with the remote. But mine activate automaticaly with the remote.
