Actually slightly narrower tires in the winter is an advantage, you get the same weight on a smaller area (higher PSI). The thinner tire will also tend to float less giving you getter traction. You cut thru the snow instead of riding on it.

At least this applies where you get decent snow falls. ( Montreal Canada)

I agree when it comes to lots of snow....

Can't you just deal with the sensors throwing the light all winter?

I just ran the 22's off my 07 for a couple months until I couldn't take that shakes anymore (no available hubcentric rings.) I never noticed a loss in power and just looked at the light in the dash. You shouldn't have any problems.

I was just asking if there was a way to shut it off. I heard it is not going to be an option on new cars soon, will be a requirement. Especially on GM Company cars, since they are 72 percent government owned between Canada and US.. I think that is BS,Cant wait till the next contract talks.

Slightly off topic, but anyone know if there's something you have to do to reset the TPMS? I blew a tire coming back from the beach this weekend and had to get a new one. The tire store claims they rebuilt/reset the sensor, but the TPMS light is still on inside. The tire store claims that it'll eventually reset itself, just give it a day or so. I'm a little skeptical though.

I'd give it couple days. I installed the 22's a couple times and each time it took a couple days for the light to come on. There could be some truth to what they're saying.

I'm pretty sure this has been a requirement on all new cars sold in the US starting with the 2007 model year.
