Is the spare for the trucks with 20's actually a 20" wheel?

Even the dakotas get a full spare...

Why dont you just buy a steel wheel online, there are websites that makes steel wheels of all dimensions, then get a 5th matching tire, mount and balance, and mount it under the truck bed in the current spares location.

That's what I've been doing...
Checking out Online Wheel and Tire shops, as well as eBay and Craigslist...
So far - No Love...

Problems are:
1) Trouble finding anyone with accurate specs for the 09 Dodge 20" wheel - even the Parts Guys at the Biggest Local Dealerships say "Hmmm... Don't know... Manual doesn't say..." and "Well, get one and measure it..."
2) Online Stores don't have "09 Ram 1500" in their Catalog Search yet...
3) 20" Steel Wheels don't seem to common in general, not even for older 3rd Gen Rams... (if they are actually same fit as for 09 Ram)...

That's what I'm hoping someone on the forum can provide - expert help...

(And no one reading this thread has offered to sell "singles" from their 20" Plastic Chrome BigHorn OEMs when they go to Mod their wheel packages... That would be an "easy solution"...)

There are 20" steel spare tire rims for the former 3rd gen trucks all over the internet. Just use Google. Took all of a minute to find plenty. The bolt pattern and offset is the same.

Here's one of the many examples of steel wheels available.

You can also buy the factory 09 rims if you want a matching one. Lots of places have them but they are not cheap.

You know you got me wondering now, I noticed when I climbed under there to install the hitch it said for temporary use only. I could have sworn I remember reading that someone said the spare rim was only a 17. I'm going to have to climb back underf there and check.

I'm not sure of the exact size but you definitely can't put a regular tire on the temp rim. That's why if you want a full size 20" spare, you'll have to buy a steel rim from a 3rd gen truck.

Ok just climbed under there and looked, the spare is a 235/85R17 and my regular tires are P275/60R20's.
