Default Official intro - just got the Ram

Just took delivery of our 2009 Dodge Ram Crew Cab 4x4. Was between the F150, Tundra and the Ram. I was leaning towards the Tundra as I grew up on their trucks, but I couldn't get over the interior. F150 was nice, but didn't seem to be too much different from the 04 F150 I had a few years back. Ram looks much better than the other 2 and the ride quality was not even a contest. Can't beat the huge discounts either.

Flame Red
Buckets
Technology package
Big Horn package
Hemi
Sunroof

Sticker $40,830
Got it for $29,230 + TTL

Did it all through email and a few phone calls. By far the easiest purchase I've ever had. Was at the dealership no more than 30 minutes and it took that long cause they were just cleaning it up.

Need to take it back though, found a nice 1" long scratch on the plastic piece of the bumper that went all the way through when I did another walk around at home. Freaking annoying.

One thing to note for any potential buyers. There is a "hidden" $1500 rebate on top of all the current rebates if you purchase a Ram made prior to Feb. The base sticker, at least for the 4x4 Crew Cabs on these are $34,850 vs the post Feb trucks 4x4 Crew Cab base price is $35,100. Not sure if it applies to all models or regions or even by dealer.

Got a list of mods to do now. Wife just added another...rear camera. She's having a hard time with the size of it <that's what she said ...>.

Congrats on the purchase. I was also torn between the ram and the tundra but the 09 ram was just too good to pass up.

If you are that torn on jap scrap no matter where it is made and an American made company that is really showing pride and quality lately, then you should just give it up and buy a KIA

Yup. Here's the breakdown

$40,830 Sticker
- 3,000 rebate
- 2,000* "hidden" rebate (correction from initial post)
- 6,600 dealer discount(s) (no idea of breakdown)
------------------------------------------------------
$29,230
=======

I had a trade with a kbb good trade value of $20,825, edmunds trade value of $18,8xx and manheim range of low $19,000ish (know someone from a Ford dealer that got me "black book" value info)

Got $19,365 on the trade, which gave me decent equity. I also put a few grand down to get my payments within my comfort zone after that.

*confirmed on Edmunds. It's a Manufacturer to Dealer rebate that apparently not all dealers willing to share. Worked with 2 other Dodge dealers and they never mentioned this and were only giving out $8,600 off sticker and much less for my trade.

Not sure how you're getting 15K off sticker 40830 - 29230 = $11,600 off sticker.
Pictures will be up tomorrow some time. Picked up the truck around 5 today, got dinner and then spent the rest of the night moving things around the garage to get both vehicles to fit.
