1/2" clearance on both sides is perfectly normal. This is my second truck with a rug and both were the same.

 

I am disappointed though that the tie downs are not removable like the previous years. Getting cheap.

 

The guys at mopardiscountparts.com are taking care of it for me. They went back to the factory and evidently mine was made wrong or something, so they are sending me a new front and sides section to replace it. They're also covering all shipping costs. I didn't even have to haggle them.

I'll definitely be ordering my parts from them here on out.
