Default Help! Camera won't show pic.

Had the dealer turn on the camera feature and they could not get it to work, truck was there all day, anyone else who had the cam installed after buying the truck have this problem, if so what did they do to fix, service said the cam is bad, Dealer I bought it from said probably a tech issue, problem is they flashed the system for free and told me they did not call the tech line for assistance, I would of gladly paid them if that is what it required, they went through the whole wiring which was more than I asked, but no call to the tech support. Anyone know the number of Dodge's tech support. followed the install according to instructions, anyone know if a wiring location changed? Help before I rip it out and send it back, Hensons said they see this issue all the time on remote starts, they warrant 2 or 3 to no avail and ends up being a tech issue. Sorry so long.

looked it up, and assuming it was installed properly (wires spliced to correct ones, no damaged parts...), heres what i found. possible causes of inop are:
(L1) BACKUP LAMP FEED CIRCUIT(Z911) GROUND CIRCUIT(X970) CAMERA SIGNAL CIRCUIT(X971) CAMERA RETURN CIRCUITCAMERA SHIELD REAR VIDEO CAMERA
basically, test wiring and if voltage and resistance within spec, then replace camera. if volts or ohms out of spec, then trace wire in question & repair.

first step of this diagnosis is: does radio & backup lamps operate correctly? if so, proceed w/ camera diag. if not, proceed w/ radio and/or backup lamps inop diag.

all per chrysler service info.

Thanks for the reply, I fixed the problem. basically checked to see if voltage was making it to the cam, it wasn't so I checked the quick connect for the tailgate found voltage there, and found that the manufacuturer had the small jumper connection in the tailgate wire wrong b/n the hot and one of the radio wires. works great now.

That jumper was probably to make your camera showup mirror or not. Your radio probably doesn;t support that?

Don't know what your talking about, I have the Laramie with the RER Nav, the wires where put in the wrong place on the connection in the tailgate pigtail, has nothing to do with the mirror.

some camera have a pigtail off them with a small jumper like in a computer and if you want the camera in the back to look like what you rear view would see you leave it alone if you want the opposite you take the jumper off and you see actual. Sorry if I confused you, was not my intention.

this is an oem cam, they only come one way. but b/n the cam and the main harness is a short harness so when you take the tailgate off you can disconnect it, don't known how coastal or the others are, but thanks for replying.

I was talking about an after market camera, what I thought you had for some reason. Anyway this one was even wireless. Sorry disregard my previous message.
