Default Mounting Electric Brake Control Module

I just got my brake control module (P3). Looking for ideas of where/how other forum members mounted their modules. Pictures would help too... Thanks in advance...Joe

I saw a pic somewhere where a guy mounted it in that litte nook under the headlight ****. It looked like it was pretty much out of the way, and a good use of an otherwise useless peice of space.

I installed mine just to the right of the parking brake. I used the one screw that was already holding the panel on so I didn't have to drill any holes.

if you havn't already try a search as I know I have seen some pictures on here some where

Mine is mounted in the factory pocket where the factory brake is installed in the upcoming 2500's. I also saw a guy use a cupholder mount for his, so it can be unplugged whenever he isnt towing, pretty sweet idea actually.

I mounted my Prodigy using the existing screw under the right side of the dash next to the console. I have the pocket mount so I was able to do this. If you have the standard mount you will have to use the screw on the left side of the dash.

Take a look at my install:

Pulled the "little nook" out, then cut out room for a Tekonsha prodigy unit.
Used a Dremel tool to cut the plastic.
Cut a notch out for the connector.
The controller kinda press-fits into the nook!!
Leave room for the manual control lever.
To keep it in I added and tie-wrap mount and tie-wrap.

SEE PIC

I have more pictures of this install but I'm not sure how to include more pictures with out going over quota...please help!

My P3 is mounted under the driver side dash using and existing dash screw by your right knee. No drilling required and it's out of the way but in easy view for the driver. I bought the adapter so I could plug it right in. No splicing required !!!

I went a little overboard here. 2009 Ram.

I actually bought the P3 BECAUSE of its front button use (Not up and down and side ways like the others)

The storage pocket by your left knee is the place.

I removed it from the truck (theres a couple hidden screws and you have to pop the lower and side panels off.

I then cut the box (pocket) open like a clam from front to back opening the clam. I then cut about 1/2 an inch out from the bottom of the front as to let the manual thumb switch operate.

Then I stuffed the controller in using two screws to secure it. This took time and was tedious (back and forth cutting and adjusting)

Its not a perfect flush but its close and the thumb level is JUST accessible. But you almost don't even realize its not factory.

Again Im promising pictures
