Default quick measurment/help from you crew cab guys

I am still in the market for a new Dodge but am worried about it not fitting in the garage and the way my driveway is set up parking outside would be less than ideal.

I know the crew cab is about 228 inches long. my garage is 231 inches, sounds ok but there may be 1 problem. There is a 4 inch ledge that runs the length (like most garages) at the front. it is 35 inches deep so I really only have 196 inches on the ground.

Will this be enough for me to run the front tires up to the front of the ledge and be able to get the back end of the truck in?

I can't measure right now, but it sounds like it will be tight. I suggest you bring one home on a test drive and check...that's what i did, cuz i wasn't buying a new truck unless i could garage it. I will see if I can get you a mesurement this evening.

thank you for the help - I really don't want to torture myself again with a test drive if it wont fit...I drove one a few months back and if I had the funds then I would have got it on the spot! great trucks, just wish homebuilders would quit building such small garages

35" is cutting it close. I can measure later if Jhedger doesn't beat me to it.

I've got the crewcab and it barely fits in my garage. I pull up all the way to the curb and rest the front tires onto. That gives you about ~2" of clearance before your front end touches the wall. Out back i have enough room to turn sideways and walk between the backend and the closed garage door.

Sounds like an excuse to build a bigger garage! Mine is 40' deep!

haha 40 feet - that would be great! worst part is there is about 5 feet of overhang right outside of my garage - I would love 1 or 2 more feet IN the garage and not the driveway...

Well, I took some measurments. I park against a 4 x 4 piece of lumber and from that to the rear of the crewcab is about 206" at most. Hope this helps, sounds like you may need to build a ramp and park on the ledge.

kinda what I thought, these tires look pretty far forward. Thank you very much for checking, guess I will have to see how bad I want the truck - maybe jackhammer some slots in the ledge for the tires! haha

I've never heard of a garage with a ledge setup like that on the floor. I would be interested to see a picture. Anyway, you said it's only a 4 inch ledge, right? Is there a reason you can't just drive up on it? Maybe make little ramps if you're concerned about tearing up the edge of the ledge or something? Seems like it would be a hell of a lot easier than jackhammering tire slots. And probably better looking.
