Has anyone deleted the muffler?
I'm thinking about removing the muffler with two straight pipes and a y pipe, the resonators and cat will stay on. I've read on here where some have started it up after removing the muffler for a mufflex just to here what it sounds like but I want to know what it sounds like through the dual resonators. Just wondered if anyone has tried it?
I thought it was alright to remove the muffler as long as you keep the cat for backpressure.
I've deleted the muffler on every vehicle I've ever had except for this truck...so far. There's no muffler loud enough for me.
My brother recently removed the muffler from a 4.7 and it sounds AWESOME.

It'll be loud, but I can't imagine it would sound good at anything other than WOT. I've thought about going true duals with bullets, or even just replacing the current muffler with a single bullet and small y.
I can't find it right now, but I've seen a YouTube video where a guy samples the truck without a muffler. He did it during his Mufflex install. Honestly it sounds very loud, but nasty. It wasn't a hot rod gurgle at all, just a bad droning, and that was at idle. It'd probably make you want to shoot yourself if you had to drive it on the highway for an hour or more.
This is loud and sounds good, unless you sound this good do not go overly loud.
