Sometimes I wonder about the some of the other dealers no wonder they cut so many.

When ever somthing is added to a veh that invovles a new module such as steering wheel controls , remote start ect, the dealer can go onto tech connect usualy a warrenty cleark has access to this info and add these as dealer installed options, once that is done a few hours later they can use the WiTech and restore the veh built configuration to add this equipment so it can work.

This is copied off my build sheet if it cant be updated then how did I add these things on my truck lol

Goof news. I knew they couldnt be correct. They have been giving me false information since I started going to them. Whenever I'm in there(which seems to be alot) its like they learn about what questions I ask as they do....it seems they have no knowledge on the new Rams, and any question they cant answer they just right it off as impossible...

Thanks for the info, looks like I'll have to travel about an hour away to another dealer I'm tired of dealing with these folks.

ok finally got some time off to travel the distance to get this issue resolved. I went to the dealership and explained to the service department what I wanted done, about an hour later the came out asking me if I had the "code" that came with the steering wheel as they needed it for the truck to recognize the controls....I told them I did not have one so they said they would try some codes they had to see if it would work, they came back out saying they could not get the wheel to work. I was told "All the needed components have been installed to get the wheel to work its just something within the trucks computer is blocking the controls from working"

They still tried me 90 bucks to produce zero results though...plus the waisted gas driving an hour out of my way. Oh well...I new it was a risk when I bought the wheel.

Since I have an ST model, maybe there is something different than SLT and above that keeping the wheel from working....or maybe I just bought a dud, who knows....

Most likely the fact you have an ST model....that is what I though the other guy had but he had the SLT anyway, put it on EBAY surely you will get your money back, Try customer service about getting your money back. I got mine back when I installed my own REN radio and bought a uconnect from mopar/dealer installed it all myself got to the point you were at were they needed to starscan it..well the charger me over a hundred and did an unnecessary oil change. They wanted a total of 150 told them i would split it I paid 100 for something they could not make work but my advantage was parts were new and all from dealer except the radio but it was working fine and when I bought the uconnect I bought it for the REN. So next day to another dealer paid them 100 got it working, cost me so much because they had to check my install, so I took the truck apart during their lunch they verified and even tried another module. Turned out other dealer did it wrong including rrts and a recall on the heater. So I called customer service they told me they cannot charge you labour for something they cannot get working unless they tell you up front since you installed it. My first dealer said sure come on in takes half an hour, my poor wife was 50 miles out of town all day waiting.
I got 60 something back since it was close to oil change time so I ate that and Customer Service said that was nice of me and that if I want I can have a full refund I said I am not greedy I just did not feel it is my place to pay for their training. Dealers cannot afford to send their techs to get trained properly so they wing it and you do not have to pay for something they don't fix. The first dealer the actual owner told me he had 600 in labour and a bay tied up all day, my wife said they were working on it outside not in a bay because she was watching for part of the time and everytime she went back they were "waiting" for something. Bought the truckthere, will not return ever for service.

Lets look at it this way. Trucks that dont have fogs have to be programmed into the truck's computer to notice they have fogs. They are like a computer hard drive. You can add something. The situation is introducing it to the vehicle.

This is the second person that I have seen do this conversion, so i know it definatley works.
