Default MyGig HD Player is slow to startup

Has anyone else noticed a long delay before the MyGig hard drive will begin playing music after starting the vehicle? My truck will not resume playing the last selected track until over a minute after the vehicle is started. I have complained twice to my dealer and they insist this is normal. They did flash the firmware the first time I took it in but the problem persists. If this truly is normal i will go away quietly but if you guys suggest that there should not be such a long delay then i will press my dealer for a unit swap. Any feedback would be appreciated.

please let one of us know if you need a video of another unit initiating play. I haven't timed mine but it should be < 10seconds.

the more schtuff on the hard drive the slower it will be to find what its looking for, not like you have a huge processor running the show there.

The Drive is probably about three fourths full. Even though the drive is supposed to be 30 gig it only allows about 16 gig for music etc. I guess I could try deleting everything and load just a small amount of music to see if the behavior changes.

See if you're running the latest MyGIG application software. If not then d/l the newest release and update it.

Hey Cyber...I just bought an '09 and mine does the same thing. Not everytime but about 50%. I've got abot 850 songs loaded on, no pictures and about 20 adresses in my uConnect adress book. I wasn't too concerned about it. I guess I figured that it was normal because of the amount of songs. I'll let the dealer know if it quits working for good. Just thought I'd let you know it wasn't an isolated incident.

Thanks HotrodMike. I did remove all music and reloaded about 4 gigabytes of music and it reduced the lag time significantly. I guess the more crap you have loaded the longer it takes to index everything. It's just annoying when you have to listen to silence the first 60-90 seconds after starting the truck.
