Default Tuning Teaser/Poll.

So I contacted B&G with some questions. I will post the results since many of us are waiting for a tune for our trucks. I know I want the ESP/torque management to be different. They have a tune and also have options for flashing the PCM that do not involve downtime to the truck.

I also posted a poll to see what people are willing to pay and if they even want a tune at all.

I would like a tune if it didn't void my warranty.

One of the questions I asked was if the stock PCM would keep a record of flashes.

I.E. you want to service your truck, you can flash it back to stock first without the dealer knowing.

The email I sent.

Hello!
I own a 2009 Dodge Ram and also am apart of an online forum of fellow 09 owners. We are waiting for a tune that is easy to put in and out of our PCM's. Most of us, and certainly myself, use our trucks on a daily basis and cannot afford removing the PCM for any amount of time. I just realized I can buy a Diablo or an SCT and have you put a tune on that. I have a few questions though first.

1. Can I send a used SCT or Diablo to you for a tune? Does it have to be an unlocked Diablo or SCT? The new ones, with the price of your tune, would be very expensive.

2. I see there is a modified torque managment for the 2009. Is there any way to help us turn of the ESP by use of the in dash switch? The ESP works well in some situations, but sometimes we want wheelspin.

3. Is there any way we can have the selective use of MDS?

4. We have heard rumors about Dodge incorporating a memory of flashes into the PCM. Do you know of this being true?

5. I haven't looked, but is the TCM inside the PCM? Can I flash the TCM using Diablo/SCT?

These are all of the questions I have for now. I have been putting out your name to the forum but again, most people can not afford any down time on their truck. I came from the SRT-4 platform and know the quality of your tunes. I am very excited to hear back from you. I am eager to share some hopefully good news with my fellow 2009 owners.

The answer I got back.

Doorrunner, As of now DS or SCT do not support the 09 trucks, I can flash your pcm with a modified performance tune and also a modified transmission tune also , but this requires you to mail me your pcm, Right now there is no other way to upgrade your pcm/tcm.. I can usually have our pcm re flashed the same day so down time is minimal,, That is the best that I can do for you right now.

Maybe someone else can email him and ask him the same questions I asked that didn't get answered.

so he can do a flash tune of the engine and tranny... but what are the gains? cost?

also what about people who have modded intakes, exhaust or other?

are the flashes permanent? how would we go back to stock to go in for warranty issues?

many questions left unanswered

350$ Engine. 350$ Transmission.

Intakes and exhuast really won't make a difference, though, they will write a custom tune.

You cannot flash back to stock, at this time.

Yes, they did leave my questions unanswered. It would be nice for at least one company to have a feasable option for us. Sending in my PCM is not an option, ever. I want to be able to flash back to stock in 5 minutes.

intakes and exhaust DO make a difference... I ordered a edge programmer and it created a lean condition due to my CAI. It also created a very nasty drone... i had to send it back to get a custom tune with the specs from my intake and exhaust...

when i go it back ($60 later) the drone was gone plus it worked a lot better..

that was on my 2006 F150..
