Good news Flash for fuel saver light!!!!!
I think has more to do with the exact software each build has.
i had the update done yesterday also but i'm seeing a different result. my MDS light does not stay on longer.
before i could coast from hwy speed all the way down to about 10-15mph in 4 cyl mode. now, all cylinders kick in as soon as i let off the accelerator.
i can also feel the transmission shifting gears more abruptly now.

Well... went to Earnhardt Dodge in Gilbert, AZ today for TSB number 18-019-09, and they basically said that it doesn't apply to my VIN (yes, I realize that different builds get separate flashes as well as TSB codes). They say there's no TSB or Recall for the MDS - which I find hard to believe after reading these here posts.
They did the following for my 10/08 build:
1) TSB 18-038-08 which reprograms the PCM for rough idle.
2) RRT 09-041 for ABS reprogram
3) 18-J1-21-82 "Safety Recall J12" which reprograms the HVAC control head module.
I did check to see if there was now the option on the EVIC for the light/message, but there wasn't and the drive back to work was with the usual display in the dash. So, unless anyone has more info I can take back to the dealership about the Driveability Improvement for the MDS, the Fuel Saver message is still M.I.A. for my truck - 5.7 EZD engine.

When I gave the number to the service guy he said this is not the number for your truck but he did say there was an upgrade to the mds system and EVIC also some other stuff. But he didn't give me the number, he did however take a long time to find the update for mine, they are not using starscan anymore they arre using wy something or rather?? I am gonna go get these done next week maybe soon who knows and see what happens, someone said sharper shifting, I like that.
Hi All:
Been following this thread for TSB 18-019-09 and just kept getting more confused the more I read. Just what does the TSB work on? Single ,duel, 3.55, 3.21 or what?
Went to check with the local dealer and he checked and found 4 RRT's they" forgot" to check for when I brought the truck in two weeks ago for service.
He made an appointment for next monday and said the Tech would check on the TSB as he could not.
I would like a little info to give them if they both have thier head up thier ***, and can't do anything about the TSB.
I have the HEMI,single exhaust, with 3.55 gears.

I'm to the point that when I go in next to the dealer I am going to ask the service advisor to research and tell me what exactly has to be done to get the fuel saver light. CJDT was able to get his to work with a software update. On another forum, someone said they had to replace the instrument cluster and a flash update to get the light. Its obvious that it should be possible. Its a matter of is it software, hardware or a combination. Adding to the confusion is what effect does the axle ratio and/or exhaust type have on if an update is available to make the light an option. Hopefully CJDT or another mechanic can help us out with some answers. Talking/emailing customer service doesn't go anywhere.

Took my 10/08 build into Dodge today hoping for what I have read here.
tech did an update but said he did not know what the update did.
I can tell you not much if anything.
No option in the EVIC for fuel saver.
Mine is the EZD engine option.
Anything I missed and should have told them.
I printed out the pertinant threads form here.
How to...numbers. Took the printouts to them.
Watched the tech read it.
Said all mine did was update from a-e to a-g...??
Wasted my morning and gas.
This is a sad fact: "Talking/emailing customer service doesn't go anyware"

I have been following this forum.
First thing I did was scroll through the EVIC settings.
Lights, alarm,locks etc.
No fuel saver option...as I said.
As for informing. I have been to that dealer so many times I know each persons name.
Sharon is my service writer, Lee is the tech and Rusty is his boss.
I sent Sharon the number off this forum as well as the instructions from this forum. She said she would give it Lee. Just to be sure I sent the two pages to Rusty. Everything CDJAUTOTECH had to written up to Monday.
I gave them every post Monday...nicely copied and pasted into word in an easy to read format.
Asked Rusty to look into it and have Lee do the same.
Tuesday I called Lee. Indeed there is a computer upgrade bring it in.
Least busy day is usually Thursday. Ok then, see you Thursday.
So off I went this morning thinking I was going there for a positive thing for once.
Might have been a positive thing? I noticed nothing but the fact there is no option in the EVIC for fuel saver.
Nothing new in that menu or anywhere else. I looked at every function.
