Default Nerf Bars and Door dings

Hey folks. First post and first truck. I did a quick search and couldn't find quite what I was looking for. Can anyone recommend a set of black finish nerf bars that would stick out far enough to act as protection against door dings as well? I have to park in a giant parking garage at work and am currently going to the way, waaaay back-in-the-corner spots to avoid dings until I can find some protection.

A couple of guys on the forum have these ones. Check them out. I believe they might be what you are looking for.

Those will not protect your door at all. You want a regular nerf like Dodge sells. Look on the Mopar website. They will be black aluminum so they will not rust. You can buy them at a discount a lot of places.

I have the RBP ones and love them, i dont know about door ding protection though. they might work on a car or something, but nothing is really going to work on another truck

Thanks for the info. I see that the bars typically come in 3" and 4" diameters. Do the 4" ovals stick out an inch further than the 3", or are the mounting brackets typically just an inch closer to the cab, making them the same for my purposes.
Any suggestions for websites with the best prices? The Dee Zee bars, if they come out further than the Mopar ones, sound more in line as to what I need, but seem pretty spendy in the places I found them. I still need to budget for mudflaps and a bedliner.. can't decided between spray-in or drop in... plus, Iv'e been getting estimates for aftermarket leather seats, so saving a buck here and there is good.

.

My Dee Zee bars are 5 inch, and lots cheaper than the Mopar.

The Mopars are 5" oval, cost is from $245 to $311 (+ shipping of around $25) depending on the truck you have.

I forgot that, topgun, it does depend on the type of cab you have.....bigger the cab the more the $$$$.

Well, alright. That's cheaper than I thought. I have a quad cab, by the way. Where are you guys going for the best prices, both Mopar and Dee Zee?
