I think when you use the upper gear limit on your shifter and drop it by one to where it says 5 on the evic, it will also turn off the MDS. Not sure though. Tow/Haul button for sure.

I basically have to floor it to get out of 4 cylinder mode and i would really like to be running 8 cylinders all the time. Hope you guys can help!

No you don't have to floor to get it out of MDS.
Why did you buy a Dodge?
Should of bought a Sierra Denali if didnt want cylinder deactivation.
6.2L engine doesn't have it.

Spoiled and a Cry Baby, Oooh the young and dumb!
If you have to floor it then there is something wrong, get into dealer to check it.
When i am driving and in MDS mode going down hill or flat ground, if I go up any small incline and keep the speed the same the MDS kicks out......if it windy the MDS will not come on.
MDS only comes on under very light load.

u r gonna git urself banned.

Seriously, do not come on this forum, at 16 years old, and tell us you know physics better then we do. This post of yours tells us that you are young, immature, and clueless. Trust me, at some point we all acted like we knew everything at your age and then we grew up and realized how stupid we acted. Some of us realized it before we embarrassed ourselves publicly, like you are currently doing.

"when ur in 4 cylinders u dont have as much power as 8" - The engine only produces its 390 HP near redline and under full load. Think of it this way, if you redline the truck in neutral, you are not going to be producing 390 HP since there is no load. So, if you are driving around on four cylinders, you obviously aren't needing a whole lot of power. The computer senses, by several factors, when the engine is under a heavy enough load to run on all 8 cylinders.

If you want MDS off, drive around in tow/haul mode. If you really need to put the gas pedal on the floor, as in, all of the way down, to get it out of MDS, you need to take it to the dealer. If you really meant that you have to go 1/4 to 1/2 of the way down, then that is normal.

By the way, if you never posted again, this forum would not miss you.

I'd have to agree, knowing at least a FEW facts about what you're talking about is a great preventative of foot in mouth disease.

Drop the attitude, learn to spell, and open your ears. You may learn something and manage to make a few friends at the same time.

That's great. Not only are you wrong, but you actually think that you're smarter and more knowledgeable than the people that are actually right.

Most people would find ignorance detrimental, but you actually embrace it, and try to use it as an asset. Good for you.

Do you have the "Fuel Saver" light inditator that tells you when MDS is on? Its really hard to tell without the light.
Anyway, the mds will not come on if you just set your transmission on 5th gear as stated before (pretty sure).

Thats pretty awesome getting a truck like that at 16.
