I hate dealing with car dealers! Got the lights in and ready to go. Drive to the dealer to have them turned on and they said "not a problem, it'll be $118". Needless to say I'm sitting here hoping I wired them correctly and wondering how mad the wife is gonna be when she figures out I now have $275 invested in lights..... Ughhhhhhh

Default switch removal

I have the same question...how do you get to the headlight switch to remove it? I have an '06 1500 Quad, and am not so lucky as to pop it out from the back. The instructions that came with the foglight kit have a simple illustration with "1,2,3" steps for center vertical console, lower dash cover under steering wheel, and then the dash face, with no direction on how any of it it actually comes out. Anyone have any advice for how to get to the headlight switch, or how those pieces come out? Thanks-

Default Light Switch

Can only speak for my 2011 3500,,I found a stiff nylon putty knife that has a beveled edge,,place on edge of switch body, gently pry outward from one side then the other till the four prongs that are on the sides of the switch housing release, hope it helps,,the only difficult part was paying the dealer nearly fifty dollars for the switch and another 58 dollars to program computer to recognize and acknowlege the presence of fog lights !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Default Installed but not working.

Ok.. first post here. Looking forward to reading and posting in the future.

Regarding the Mopar 82211694AB after market fog lights. Hopefully I can provide some information and get some questions answered as well..

First off, have to say I love the people at Steve White motors. Excellent source for Mopar parts...

I bought the 82211694AB Mopar fog lights, and installed them last night. All things considered they were pretty simple to install. The pictorial instructions were detailed enough for even an idiot like me to follow.

I installed them on my 09 ram 1500. Wiring and brackets total took me and a friend about an hour and a half. (including the time to install the tow hooks to "man up the bumper" and occupy that dead space after removing the insert. Tow hooks were EXTREMELY easy to install.)

Removed the bumper insert without too much issue... I'm extremely curious how everyone/anyone could cut out that insert to accomodate the lights post-install as the brackets to hold the lights occupy all 4 of the center posts to support the insert.... I was going to dremel it out but as much space as the brackets and lights occupy I don't see much of the insert remaining to be structurally sound... I dunno. I did notice there is a part no. out there for a new insert to allow for the tow hooks but my investigation drew up nil looking for one for the fog lights.

I'm going to try to modify the plastic insert anyway at a later date.

Now.. my local dealership charges a full hour of labor... 100 bucks to program the lights in..

Just got the phone call they were unsuccessful. Indicated the computer recognizes the lights, and they were unresponsive. Awaiting a phone call to see if the interior switch lights up without the lights and / or how they were able to determine the computer accepted the new programming.

I ran the wires last night and inserted into the green plug/harness per the instructions... I don't see how that could have gone wrong. I know the ground was attached appropriately as well.

Any input or help here would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to have to pay for the service charge again at another dealership... I'll go over the wiring again. Dealership offered to troubleshoot the wiring for an additional 90+ dollars an hour...

Big sigh in Alabama.

edit:
To answer earlier posts regarding the new switch, I was able to reach under the dash and push out the entire plastic insert in the cab (containing the ac vent) and then gently push out the old light switch to replace the new. I could not find a tool that would remove the old switch without scarring up the insert. the whole assembly popped right out for me with minimal effort... almost too easy.

I too am doing the install of this same fog light kit (82211694AB), but in my 2012 Ram 1500.
Everything is going well BUT when putting the 2 wires in the green C3 connector under the TIPM box, I run into a problem. The 2 wires are listed as going in ports 23 and 24. Well, I have a grey/light blue wire in port 24 already (but nothing in 23). What now? Anyone with a later model Ram made this install yet?

The dealership I bought the truck from suggested first, take out the blue/grey wire and replace with the one from the kit, his second option was to splice the 2 wires together. Thought I would ask around before I start messing with it all.

I may have found the answer to my question elsewhere so I'll post what I found in case anyone here needs this info as well.

The TIPM box was changed in 2011 and instead of the green C3 connector, you put the wires in a grey 16-pin connector (middle one, closest to the firewall, only grey one if I recall correctly).

They go in post 11 and 16 of this grey connector.

My 2012 had 2 white dead end clips that had to be removed before I could put the fog light wires in the connector (apparently the 2011 has 2 black wires in those posts but they are dead wires going nowhere, just remove and tape up).

I just finished the install this evening so I haven't had it flashed to see if it will eventually work.

Did you get your lights to working? Where did you find the info on the wire change for 2012?

Oops, forgot to update my own progress here.

Yes, they work great, fantastic fog light, makes a HUGE difference on the road.

I had Dodge flash both my fog lights and the MOPAR integrated trailer brake controller at the same time and was about a $42 charge.

I found the info about the the wire change by just doing a google search and finally after a few tries found what I needed. Can't recall the keywords I ended up using though, but regardless, what I found and posted here works.
