When I first got my '09 the driving lights did not work at all. they had to scan it into the truck and it worked after that. Luckily still under warranty....
Pretty soon you won;t be able to do anything to your truck without a dealer visit for a computer to give you permission to do it.

I just got the same fog light kit for my 2012 Ram and the instructions had 2 different sets one for 2009 & 2010 and another set for 2011 & up for the wiring connections to the TIPM grey connector. Dealer told me the same thing, about an hour job for $100.00 bucks plus taxes. I wonder if I should check the other dealers to try and get a lower price. Seems to me to be only about 10 to 15 min. of work and about a $50.00 job but I guess their punishing us for doing the work our self and not getting them to do it. Was thinking about adding a remote start switch but I don't want to do it if I have to get the dealer to flash that too. Any info. on that would be appreciated.

If they are going to install the light kit, program the computer for $100, you might want to let them do it. Most of the dealers charge $100 just to flash the computer. If there is anything else that you think you might want to add to your truck, like the remote start, have them flash it all now. I had them flash my truck for the fog lights before I put the kit in, while they were flashing the truck for keyless entry and I only paid the 1 charge.

Default 2002 fog lights

Hello everyone, I have a 2002 Ram quad cab SLT 4x4 that I would like to add the factory fog lights to. I see all the different posts here talking about different ways of doing this depending on the year of the truck. I see a few OEM Mopar kits on eBay that come with the front wiring, the switch, and lights. My question is is the truck already hard wired so I can just pop out the plastic plugs below the bumper and bolt up the lights , change the switch, connect the wiring. ( if it is hard wired from the factory, I am assuming there is a plug somewhere behind the bumper) Will this be a simple plug and play deal, or a nightmare of non factory looking wires and new relays ? I am hoping the 2002's don't need to be re-flashed.

Thanks, Scot
