Default Air horn

Evening all! I am thinking about putting a air horn on my truck. (IMHO, the 09 Ram horn sucks). Does anyone have experience with the train horms? I was thinking about a horn with a compressor that could be mounted under the bed.

Any ideas/experience?

Thanks in advance,

Dan

Default Stebel, 139dB

Stebel makes a very loud horn, 139dB, yet compact.

Oh so horny, me so horny...have you stood in front of the new truck and had someone blow the horn it's pretty loud, not worth spending money on causing accidents. My buddy put an air horn on his car was behind an old lady and she wasn't moving at a green light so he hit the horn she laid on the gas but now the light had changed and traffic was moving so she got splattered he left but several people were pissed when he honked the horn they took his license number. Well he had to pay for her car that drove into another car but that lady was so scared she thought there was a train behind her so she kept going up curb over a berm took out a gas station sign and well she was okay except all the damage. He got screwed had topay for all plus community service, his insurancewent to the sky.

I know it sounds stupid, but check with local police on this, in our town if they HEAR that train horn, (which a lot of people have them), you will get ticketed, happened at Sonic one night, a kid blew the KL-5's twice ,and the cops came and wrote him a disturbing the peace ticket.....I have twin air hors, off of a diesel rig, not exactly quiet...but it is set up independently of the stock horns,

How difficult was the install? Where did you mount the compressor? I'm not sure if I want the compressor model or the electric.

The old lady story is pretty funny, but a real drag for the guy!

Check your state laws on the subject as well. The law here in WA is very vague. Quoting, "but no horn or other warning device may emit an unreasonably loud or harsh sound or a whistle".

Doesn't give a decible level or any specific guidelines... So that leaves a whole lot of room for any LEO to make the decision for themselves.

LOL

I installed everything under the front bumper and wired it in place of my stock horn, so when my panic alarm goes off the train horns go off.
