Default DEaler Add on of Integrated Brake Controller for 2010 and 2011

Dodge has finally made a available a dealer install kit for the integrated brake controller for 2009 and 2010 trucks. Thats the good news, the bad news there is a back order log of over 500. So many people have asked for this and have tried other methods to for example purchasing a replacement module and installing it. (This invalidates electrical warranty)

The Dodge part is 82212548. Here is one link with some info: http://www.leeparts.com/2009_dodge_r...ontroller.html

I have seen them for around $195. It must be installed by the Dealer so they can activate it to work with you dash electronics.

Anyone know how many axles a 82212548 trailer brake controller can control?

I have a 2011 SLT and I bought the integrated control kit and tried to install on my truck, but it does not have all the required hook ups. I have the kit if anyone wants one and has the required wiring. I know that the Bighorn models have the required wiring. My truck only had a 4 pin female connector with wide blades and that goes back to the rear of the truck. The integrated controller has two four pin connectors with one to the rear and the other into the dash or computer to give you the trailer connection signal on the dash screen. If you have both connectors available I can make you a real deal on the integrated controller. I have the bracket and the controller plus the instructions. Takes about 20 minutes to install and then the dealer programs the dash. Call me at 541-884-8065 for info. Thanks Fred

Default Integrated Trailer Brake Control

I did not have the computer plug in for the integrated controller so I had to use and aftermarket controller. I used a Tekonsha Prodegy P2 and got the controller and plug in harness from etrailer. Just plugged it in. I mounted the controller in the spot where the integrated controller normally mounts and it fits fine and works fine. Had to make a metal bracket and pop rivited it to the dash piece and the plastic bracket that came with the controller. Bit of cutting and fitting on the dash piece, but that was where I wanted the controller to be. Sold the other factory controller this morning to a man that had all the wiring. Problems solved.

Look really good under the dash, you should have to 2 conectors under there taped to other wires.. If so it's just plug in and play! If you have the 4 pin on rear than you should have them. If you don't use the search and there is a bounch of write ups how to wire it in with out the 2 plugs. Good luck

To be clear on years the 09 is a major challenge!! I have an 09 Laramie .. the integrated controller can work, but you have to do a lot of wire digging, cutting and splicing to make it work and it will NOT show on your EVIC. I did a bunch of sniffin' around on this and in short ... I went with the Tekonsha P3 - plug n' play and done in minutes. There are a few good threads on this topic out there - recommend a search to read up on what other folks say too.
