Water Dripping Inside Of Laramie From Passenger Handle
Took my 09 Laramie in today to have a water leak looked at. When it rains water comes in through the passenger side handle by the windshield. There is an oval screw cover where it is dripping from. Has anyone had this happen to them? They have it apart as I type and can't seem to figure out how it is getting there.......go figure!!! One thing they do know is it is coming from the sunroof drain. I will post outcome just in case others experience the same.
FYI, it amazes me that all of us on the forums know WAY more than ANY service / parts department!! I went around and around with my local dealer on the iPod cable for my truck. They went through three cables and tearing my dash apart every time until they finally accepted the fact that I was right.
Thanks to all for your help and information!

Sorry to hear about your leak and have no idea. It never rains here in Phoenix... ha...
But I see you mention an iPod cable? What iPod cable are you talking about? As far as I knew there was no iPod integration kit for our Ram. Am I missing something? Or are you plugging it into the Aux port?

There's an RRT for the crew cabs w/ sun roofs that addresses the leak issue:
08-081--crew cabs w/ sunroof. sunroof drain tubes
I think the drain tubes get pinched, resulting in poor drainage and the leak you are seeing. The fix is to re-route the tubing IIRC.

I had the same problem with my sunroof, the mechanic at the dealership told me the drainage tube was crimped in the kick panels. Once fixed I have not had any more problems. Living in North Carolina is awesome, however, the pollen from the trees helped clog the tubes that were crimped. Hope yours is fixed as easily as mine was, having a sunroof is great.

Not plugging it into the AUX port. There is a cable that pluge into the back of your head unit enabling you to control your ipod from touch screen, depending on which audio system you have. My cable ends up in my glove box and it charges the ipod when the vehicle is running. Search this forum for ipod integration cable and you will surely find the post. If you have an ipod I highle recommend it! Let me know if you can't find it.
I have a 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT-8 and it has the iPod integration on it and on the touch screen it has a tab listed iPod. I have the Navigation setup on my Ram and was disappointed it didn't come with it. I also have the Satellite TV in mine.
I looked on dodge.com web site and they mention nothing about iPod and the Dodge Ram.
What radio do you have? I see we both have the same model vehicle.
thx
I added the uconnect to my truck but its not working yet, in fact i put in a REN with Sat and the sat works bonus....only problem cuz i put the uconnect module I have to have a flash for it to work, the radio all work accept the VR and uconnect. The uconnect module has a spot to plug in a cable to hook up an ipod......I would never own one for what reason in the truck with a 30 gig hard drive why? Just load your music on your radio.

Yet another problem from the sun roof. Glad I passed on that option. We have a sunroof on the wife's Hummer and never use it - always stays shut with this Texas heat. And we haven't had any rain in quite some time.....
Ok I have searched high and low - even did my research on this before I bought the truck and there's no iPod integration on our (at least mine) Ram's.

If you have Nav with RER (backseat tv, etc) you need part #82211853. It is $87 from Mopar or you can try eBay. I had my dealer put it in, as mentioned before, cost me additional $40. Go to www.mopar.com, chose accessories from horizontal bar across top and it will direct you to another site. Chose Dodge Trucks and put in year, make, model, etc. Then chose Audio / Video, then iPod integration cables. There should be three listed. Good luck!
I do have the Nav with RER.
Thanks again!
