Default No oil change reminder.....

Ok, so I have over 10000 miles on my truck now. I have never gotten an oil change reminder. I change my own oil every 4k but I would think that I would have gotten a reminder by now.
My setup is locked. I have no idea how to unlock it. I couldn't find out in the manual, but I would also imagine that this would be setup in the display? Yes? No?

Setup is locked if you are not in Park. It is in the Owners Manual under the EVIC section.

Not really anything in the setup for the Oil Change reminder. You reset that with the throttle pedal also per the Owners Manual.

Hmmm...I'll have a re look at the manual. I wonder why I am not getting a reminder for the oil though?
I'll be calling the dealer as I have a few other issues that I would like fixed. Squeeky brake pedal, Door stop/hold open thingy not working etc...

I am no genius on this truck yet, but doesn't the oil reminder come on after an oil sensor determines that the oil is getting close to the end of its useful life? Meaning if you change it before the light it will never come on right?

It determines the oil changes by your driving habits. You can change the oil everyday but it will still come on. Drive the truck hard and it will come on sooner but at 10k there is something wrong if it hasn't came on.

I have 7900 miles and it's never came on for me either. Had the oil changed by the dealer at 3000 and 6000.

Mine came on at 2200 miles, then again at 4600 miles and I wasn't driving hard.

I'm sure it includes other things like alot of stop and go driving, idling, etc. If thats not the case with you then just stay out of this!...... your trucks ****** up
