Did you replace the battery for 130 bucks or whatever you quoted there. How much to change the battery like 10 bucks is it not? Why would you have to have it reprogrammed the signal coming from the fob didn't change? If you get a whole new FOB sure you would have to have it programmed.

Remote start wouldn't work for me either.
Had to have it replaced & now its fine.

Question: When I went to the dealer with the problem they asked if I had the same problem with my other remote.
WHAT OTHER REMOTE? When I took delivery last Nov., I asked about a second remote & was told the truck only came with one.
Thought that was kind of strange at the time but ... maybe it was a new thing.
Now they say I should have gotten a second remote!
Anyone had the same experience?

my buddy and I both have the 09 Ram, his has the remote start...

either way, we both have the same issues with the key fob...

sometimes it works, others it wont. it usually does not do it back to back(not work), works for a long while and others it just wont unlock. replacing the batt didn't solve the key fob issue, you'll see the prob again...

I've decided to put a viper 5901 kit on with remote start, only thing the key fob will be good for is to start the vehicle.

I have the same problem. I hear there was a bulliten for some key fobs being defective. When I called my dealer they suggested the receiver module inside the truck. When I take it in they are going to test it out. Seeing as both my spare did the same thing I think it's the receiver inside the truck

There's another thread on here about the POS key fob we have, the guy posted pics yesterday about how he took the fob apart, bent the 4 metal tabs that the battery make contact with. His fob works everytime, when my fob begins to act up, I'm gonna try that before I go deal with the dealership.Just a thought for what IMHO is whats wrong with the majority of these fobs......................Kevin.

My new fob that I got from the dealer started acting up yesterday. What a POS system. I did perform surgery on the fob as posted the other thread about these fob's and bending the battery contacts. Personally, I don't think it is going to help. Just have to wait and see. This is my first Dodge and I love this truck, but this and a few other little things I have experienced will probably keep me from owning another Dodge vehicle.

It's not the key fob that is messing up, taking it apart and messing with it will do nothing. It's the truck accepting the frequency (code) to do what you want it to. Having the dealership test the module will not help either, it has to be doing it (not working) when tested. As we all know, we cannot reproduce this on demand, it just happens when it wants too.

As of now, my only solution is to replace the unit with aftermarket. (my opinion)

I feel your frustation man, my fob has'nt begun acting up(Yet) if it was me, your truck is a 09 or 10 Ram, not a large amount of mileage why should you have to incur the expense of replacing something thats covered under your bumper to bumper warranty.I would bother the dealership until this is resolved, maybe you have a crazy $$$ and can afford this expense, if so , ignore me, I'm just giving my 2 cents(again) good luck with this annoyance....................Kevin
