Default Keyless remote piece of Cr@p!

Locked my door at the store last night. Remote wouldn't let me in. Tried the key in the FOB and the alarm would go off. Couldn't stop the alarm. Why would the remote die after only 8 months. (11, 800 miles) The one in My Toyota is 4 years old and still works fine. I tried changing the battery today and it still won't work. luckily I have the spare at home. What if this happened 200 miles from home. Anyone else's Fob not work? @$160.00 for new one....Holy Mooly! Am I gonna have to keep buying one every 8 months? Dealer says not included in the warranty as it is a user device. Like tires. Great.

not sure how to remedy the issue...
but to get the alarm to stop, just put the key in the ignition.

OK! Never mind I just figured out you have to reprogram the remote after you change the battery. Works fine now......
Still think the battery should last WAY longer than 8 months. Like I said My Toyota one is 4 YEARS old. Oh well I'll stock up an a couple batteries and keep them in the glove compartment.

I agree, these fobs suck. Dodge has got to know there's a problem with them. All I want is a fix for the issue, because I'm not paying that kind of money for
a key fob that still has this apparently very common problem.

I don't think your problem is with the fob. I have had the same problem, keyless locks you out, won't unlock or remote start. Sets off alarm if you use the key.

Dealer checked, the problem is in a module, they replaced module WI8035031 and so far problem is solved. Diagnostics showed keyless entry received signal but module was intermitent in sending signal to open locks or start the vehicle.

I know I was not the first person with this problem, seems to happen when the outside air temp was around 100. Dealer was replacing 3 a week do to this module failure.

Hmmmm....I wonder why it worked great after I changed the battery and reprogrammed the remote? It is going in the week after next for the HVAC/defroster recall. I'll ask them about this module. I am also asking for all the flash updates that might be out for mine. Thanks for letting me know about the module though. hadn't heard that one.

Did the truck start with the dead battery in the key fob?

Mine has worked flawlessly after replacing the fob. It has now been almost a month since.

I had the same problem and had to pull the horn wires to make it stop. Key in door or ignition didn't stop it. Dealer wasn't going to cover the damaged connectors on the horn because I did it. They finally gave in. It hasn't done that little trick since I got the horn working again. The fob however does still fail to unlock the doors from time to time. This has been discussed in other threads.

There is still a problem and I don't think it's the battery in the fob.
