A lot of money and time to defeat the purpose of going for the sport look. Maybe I should take orders for sport grills here in Canada and send them off to you boys. Maybe add a few bucks plus you will have to pay tax, no duty as far as I know. I don't even know how much they cost.

I was wishing that I got the chrome honeycomb grill insert. What made you get the chrome and then decide to change it to black?

looks pretty cool, Doc.
did you just paint right over the chrome?
did you buy touch-up paint in a can or something?
cant wait to see it installed.

I ordered matching paint and did mine last week, although I did not paint the insert portion.

How are yall prepping the grill before you paint it? I thought about doing this but afraid of it chipping off. Never painted over chrome before.

used a good primer after cleaning it with a prep (like paint thinner). Here in montana it will eventually get a chip or two, no way around that.

My new Painted Grille was just over $200 ready to install. Got $100 for the chrome one. So net was about $100. Bet you can't even come anywhere close to that.

Would of been easier to paint your grille if you had removed the insert. Just have to be careful you don't break the tabs off.
