Desert Dawg, I think Ford is going to miss your business and mine! I think we collectively keep them in sales here in New Mexico.

I like my '08 250 FX4 except when I had to put fuel in it! Ford really improved the performance with the 6.4L. You could pull a friggin' tree out with the thing. I used my mostly to tow our 26' camper, really a 1/2 ton trailer,as 10 months out the year I ride my "KAW" to and from work. The new Ram just blew me away when I test drove it. It's a rocket on four wheels. Now if it will just pull the camper without grunting too much.

hehe....I hear ya! My dealer was non-to-happy when he thought he was going to sell me a fully loaded 09 Ford FX4 and I pulled up in my new Dodge. We are sort of friends so he gave me a good ribbing, but did admit the new Ram looked pretty sweet.

I am very excited as I get to pick up my Ram tomorrow with its new 6-inch lift and Toyo MTs. I am a little nervous as it will be even larger looking than my 08 Ford FX4. And yes, those 6.4L engines are amazing but did suck gas! Cheers!

I've pretty much been a Ford truck man for a while now as every new truck I bought has been a Ford till I bought the Dodge. 1st one was an 87 Ranger XLT and my latest was a 97 F-150 with 250K on it. Decided with that many miles on the F-150 it about time for new truck, looked at Chevy's, Ford's and Dodge's but kept going back to the Dodge as the warranty couldn't be beaten. I still have my old Ford as use it as a work truck.

I had a 1997 F250 Powerstroke Diesel 4x4 that I never drove but ran pretty good.

Unfortunetly I think it was a Bad decision to get rid of it for this truck.
As I am coming to find out it is not going to be able to Pull my Jeep and trailer like I had planned. Or at least not going to be able to do it safely.

I agree. I told folks on my old Ford Truck forums not to buy the new Dodge Ram if they have real towing needs but rather stay with their F250s or go with the redesigned Ram 2500s when they come out. The truck is not near as capable as the F250s, but then no half ton is compared to the heavy duties. I don't tow as much so it wasn't a big deal for me, although I am surprised it won't pull your Jeep. I do have a 18 ft. enclosed trailer for remote TV broadcasting and it pulls that fine. I do miss having the trailer brake control though.
