Could you describe how you are calculating your milage. Even 24 doesn't seem possible with a Hemi.

 

The speed limit kept changing from 55, 60, 70 due to road work, so I just kept it at 55 in the right lane the whole way. Not much traffic on the road at all, people just came flying up and passed me up without slowing down a bit. I divide miles driven by gallons to fill it up.

Get rid of the e10 crap, it does nothing but make the oil companies richer with tax exemptions with the costs being the same = higher profits, less mpgs. Not to mention screwing up every combustion engine that sits idle for over a week at a time (boats, mowers, trimmers, etc.).

 

We still have to buy the same amount of oil with the blended Ethanol since the mileage is so much worse. We're just throwing away the corn gas! 10% ethanol with 10% less fuel economy... I am not the sharpest tool in the shed but that is a wash!

As far as the sitting in the tank - that's BS. It's only a problem when you have run on real gas for a long time and then switch, since it tends to clean out all the gunk. I store my boat, snowmobiles, lawnmower, trimmer and 2 cars for months at a time with E10 and they all start right up.

 

Bingo!! The consumer gains nothing here. This hurts us because we are also seeing the cost from food and grain to be impacted. Sure the farmers benifit, why wouldn't they.

I really think it's a bad idea anytime we start using food or water to fuel our vehicles. I'm still a firm believer that the best fuel is Bio Diesel. I mean this is a waste product blended in with diesel that doesn't negatively effect the performance. Think about it, these fast food joints used to pay to have it hauled off, now they sell it. There's no other use for it, corn on the other hand......

 

70 is the limit, meaning your not suppose to go over that number but you can drive slower if you wish, most states have a minimum posted of like 55, I wouldn't advise driving this slow but if you must keep to the far right hand lane.

 

Thanks, I'm well aware of the relulations. You have to remember that the minimum speed limit was implemented for those vehicles that could not safely travel at the posted "limit". Point being, anytime you purposely drive 15 mph in either direction of the "limit" it's dangerous. 15 under is also know as impeading the flow of traffic and the cause of many accidents, not to mention traffic jams. It's just careless and irresponsible for someone driving a vehicle fully capable of mantaining the posted speed to drive 15 under for no other reason than to squeeze every bit of fuel ecconomy out of their 390 HP pickup truck. He saved 6 bucks and took an hour longer to drive at that speed. I don't know about the rest of you but my time is worth 7 times that an hour.

 

E85 Ethanol is available at Meijers. now I am told that is like 94 octane and my kids little Avenger 2.7 L v6 is gonna run that ?

 

I would like to see some of the roads increase to like even 75 or 80....where it's all straight flat road. Here in ONtario Canada the 401 highway used to be 70 when I was a kid so most drove 80 or more, no seat belts, babies in the front seat, dad probably drunk driving home from Christmas out of town. I do remember seeing a lot more accidents as well as people stuck in the snow. Lots of changes, but 70 mph is a good speed limit for freeways. You are driving 50 mph in a lot of city roads...in Canada we are lucky to drive 40mph on a 3 lane road.
