Default Homelink question

I just spent the past 2 hours trying to get my homelink to work with a garage opener. Is there any special add on that I need? A buddy and I both tried, and we tried everything it said in the owners manual, and I also went online to the homelink web page and did what they said. Needless to say after 2 hours I still don't have it working. Has anyone else had this problem, or is it only sertain trucks that it works on? Any help would be greatful.

I had to put new batteries in my remote to get it to take. Good Luck.

The funny thing is, is that my buddy got his to work in his 09 silverado about 5 mins before we tried mine, and we tried another door also.

Make sure you are pointing it up and back toward the rear view mirror with the remote. That is what I had to do to get mine to work.

Brummo are you saying not to point it at the homelink button but point it at the rear view mirror instead? Where exactly does the signal come from anyway?

Probably already checked but it's not just the button on the actual opener in the garage you have to hit?

You most likely have to follow the procedure I did.,.. first program the homelink using the remote you use following the instructions in the book and then go and push the button on your garage door opener in your garage and return to your truck and push the button you just programmed 2 times holding it for 2 seconds during each push. You most likely have a garage opener that has frequency hopping and thus you have to do both procedures..

I think it is step 5... but you can go direct to step 5 until you have programmed which button you want to use.

I too had problems, after trying every combo I could think of... I called the 1-800, got it working in 10 mins... My 08 altima was way easier, click, push and hold, done.

I had troubl ewith mine, as well. I ended up calling the 800 number and the rep. walked me through a slightly different procedure that worked right away.
