89 for best performance. You are paying lots of money for the truck, what another 2.60 per fill up?

I've used 87 on all my vehicles. However, I'm stationed in Nebraska and their 89 octane has 10% ethanol in it and it's .10 cents cheaper. However, the MPG are alot less if I use 89.

Is the 89 here different from the 89 wherever you guys live?

Mine has only had 87 in it. 89 is $.20 a gallon more than 87 here.

89 Octane is about .30 more here last time I filled up and for a 32 gallon tank that's an extra $9.60.

I haven't noticed a difference from 87 to 89. I swear I got better mileage with 87 but I'm about half way through my second tank of 89. But it could be just my imagination.

I've got to agree here with this one... I pretty much always go with 89 or 91 in all my vehicles. Like stated before, what's a couple more bucks in the grand scheme of things?
