Daytime running lights
Pull up behind people in the turn lanes and see the reflection in a bumper or the back of the car in front of me. The first time I noticed it I thought I had a bulb out.
I called the local dealer where I bought the truck and ask how much it would cost and how long it would take to turn the lights on. After putting me on hold twice, the girl said abt 1/2 hour or 45 min. and cost $43.50.
How about that!!

I went by the dealer this morning and told the Service Manager what I wanted. They hooked my truck to some kind of programmer and turned on my daylite running lights at no charge.
The light by the turn signal does go off when using the turn signal. The lights go on when the truck is put in drive.
He said the voltage is lowered by pulsing it and not using a resister to get the 50%.
Thanks to all,
Jack

Jack 772,
The day time running lights you are refering to are the lights under the headlight and next to the blinker, right? The reason I ask is alot of folks keep saying your headlight is on at %50 power, but its not your actual headlight lamp.

Depends on which headlights you have. If you have the quad beam headlamps then there is a designated DR light (many of the sports and laramies have these type) I believe the other models have the single bulb which does low, high and drl.
