Default diff fluid

I am a mechanic at a dodge dealer, the manual states that you should check the fluid at 30,000km if it's dirty you should reccommend replacement. I mysellf like to see it changed about this mileage. This is about when it starts to get dirty. Our price is 259$ for both and 130$ for 1 diff. The fluid is about 27$ a litre and is full syn you need 4.5 litres. I see when people go to long the pinon bearing go. I have a ram and I do mine every 25000km dirty or not. In the older trucks like 2005 it said change at 25000km.

Does anyone know if the warranty will be honored if I change the oil myself and keep the receipts. I think the 18,000 mile interval is reasonable, but Chrysler closed all of the Dodge dealers in southern Utah, so it is a 107 mile one way drive to get to the closest dealer. It will cost me 10 times as much in lost income by missing work for a day to take my truck to the dealer as it will to just change the oil myself.

Document it well and your OK.Nothing says a dealer or a shop has to do any work on your truck to honor the warranty.
