Look at service specials on your dealers website. The dealers around here almost always have an oil change coupon.

Here's the latest one from one of the dealers I use for service. $14.95 and then it'll be an extra $5-10 for the extra oil that the hemi needs.

Good tip!

My dealer special is $24.95... so figure $35 with the extra two... not too bad, but I can do 7 quarts synthetic + filter of my choice for $40.....

I have no complaints with mine, works as it should. In many ways much safer/secure. It will not start the truck if the hood or doors are open. Aftermarkets will not care.

If you get an aftermarket I highly recomend letting a pro install. Also watch your options. Some lower priced ones will not disable the starter after you use the RS, meaning if you turn the key to far you will grind the starter, although I am not sure that is an issue with out new trucks given you can not grind it with that new ignition we have. Other options can include remote locks, power window control, ect on the FOB of the RS.

As for me, I'm going to check with my dealer if they would install an aftermarket viper that i would like to buy. it's a sst kit with 1 mile range remote start/alarm. you can get it online for 200. way better than the stock unit offered. my buddy has the stock unit and unless you're standing right next to it, it won't start, or you'll have to try like three or more times to get it to start. if you're that close, mine as well put the key in it and start it. I have a long walk from my work to my vehicle, so a/c or heat will be nice by the time i get there, it's almost a mile walk so the sst kit will be awesome.

guys for some of you thats complaining how the range of your stock remote suck. it might sound funny and stupid but try putting the key fob on your neck then press the start or unlock/lock. this should give it a little bit of amplification.

not stupid, you can use your chin or the base of your wrist next to your thumb to extend your range, like an antenna.

but i still prefer buy a one mile range alarm/starter for 200 which is a sure thing.

go let some butcher cut your wiring harness up and insatll that aftermarket crap then come in and complain to the dealership about all the stuff that doesnmt work since they worked on it

People like me come in here to help our customers not to be insulted.
Please tell me honestly, do you feel the techs that work in the dealerships could use more training on the newer systems or are they just not training enough of them, only reason I say this is it always takes a lot longer than they say...like 13 hours to program a mopar unconnect split up among 2 dealers.
Turns out the first dealer did a bunch of rrts at the same time and everything they did was no good second dealer was on the phone with me telling me they cant get it when the tech came over and said he got it finally 5 minutes before closing.
So if you are gonna install something yourself be sure that the dealer will starscan it and get a price and time frame before you do it yourself, sometimes the 50 bucks you save is not worth it. Should have cost me only 50 bucks...half hour. But since the dealer did not know what they were doing even the second dealership took the same amount of time but got it working. I paid 100 to second dealer and got my money back from Customer Service for the first charges from the dealer who charged us even though they didn't get it to work. When I called they said sure not problem half hour simple deal...my poor wife 7 hours later.

Well even with the OEM one unless you have the dual controls you won't have automatic air when its hot or auto heat when its cold. I fould that to be stupid but what can you do..

Well you can always place the controls to be on high the night before so it turns on when you start the truck...its not as fancy but it works
