Can you get the A/C to come on? I think only the heat or defrost would be possible.

When you order the remote start option($335) with the truck it appears that you get an alarm system with it. Is the same true when you buy the Mopar remote start accessory kit? It seems that $235 for the remote start and an alarm system would be a great deal. The accessory website says it gives all of the features of the factory installed option. Can anyone verify this?

Once again, check out viper sst 5901. you can find it for around 225 and it's a alarm/remote start. it comes with the temp sensor for cab heat and defrost/ a/c, you can also set the temp you want the vehicle to be and it will shut off after it is reached or it can maintain that temp. it also has the one mile range to activate, you just can't beat this item for an aftermarket combo/price.

downfall, yes, you'll have to have your big key fob and the viper on one keychain instead of having the remote start on the factory key fob. I'm more about getting more for my money (which is quality and more options for less) than the convenience of one key that has issues anyways.

Well, I've gotten different answers regarding whether the factory "Remote Start Kit" actually has an alarm built in. I've been told several things by several dealers, including:
1. No, it's just remote start.
2. You CANNOT buy the alarm functions except from the factory.
3. Yes, it has them.
4. All RKE (remote keyless entry) vehicles which are SLT/Big Horn, etc. have the upgraded instrument cluster, so all that's needed is to Scarscan the truck to activate the alarm funcitons.
5. We have no idea...

It would be nice if Dodge/dealers/retailers were all on the same page...

Anybody with any experience with this?

Kept install very simple, didn't hook up horn, lights, door unlock, hood switch or on off switch. For quick stops I set it so I can remove key and truck stays running. Insert key to put back in gear.

CHALL D2D interface module with T harness - "plug n' play" 1 hour/2 beer install. Complete kit $200. One button ultra-mini remotes, LED/chime confirm.
