Default Teflon Dash ?

I tried to attach the small adhesive disk for a Garmin GPS to the top of my dash and the thing just won't stick. I cleaned the area with rubbing alcohol first, let it dry, then applied the disk but it doesn't stick. I don't mean it doesn't stick well, I mean it feels like I never peeled the paper off of it first. I can literally slide it around on my dash and it has no adhesion whatsoever. I took this same disk, now used a little and touched in several spots by my finger tips, etc. and stuck it to the dash of my Honda Civic. Within 10 seconds it was so well attached I could probably tow the car with it.

What is it about our dashes that prevent things from being stuck to them?

Well, that explains the seat issue I am having, so I won't need to post an embarrassing question in the "Interior" forum... LOL ..

I still can't figure out what the deal is with the dash. The disc will not stick anywhere to the top of the dash. Very strange.....

Save yourself some headaches and invest on one of these:

I've had very little luck getting the stock mount from my Garmin to stick anywhere on the Ram. The suction cup will attach to the top of the plastic vent cover, but mine falls off randomly, probabally because the Nuvi 660 I've got is a bit bigger and heavier than a lot of the Garmins.

You can see what Oldjeep is talking about in the post I wrote here https://dodgeforum.com/forum/4th-gen...-write-up.html I haven't had either of mine fall off yet, but I don't leave them up all the time.

get one of these!

Pro-fit mounts:
this is the install instructions for the 09's
http://www.pro-fit-intl.com/Adobe/DG-92-08-G3-p9.pdf

You buy the vehicle specific mount and can add any adapter to it.

That looks like an odd place to mount the GPS. Over the top of half of the radio buttons and you have to look down to see it. No wonder they don't show a picture with the GPS mounted.

I'd just go with the suction cup on the window. I put mine on the very bottom left part of the winshield. I put mine so the bottom of the unit is touching the dash a little and it provides some support. Hasn't come unstuck yet, going on 8 months. Then I was able to run the cord down a dash line, tuck it in behind the plastic above the top of the steering wheel column, run the cord behind the dash from there (easy) and on to the outlet that powers on and off with the car, so it turns on and off automatically. Took like 2 minutes to do and has worked out well for me. FWIW.

Thats exactly how ive got my bullydog mounted, works well. I dont need/use the gps enough to mount it permanently it usually lives in the glovebox until I need it. I have a garmin Nuvi 650
