Unhappy Chip on the Door

Someone must have dinged me with their door in the parking lot over the weekend and left a tiny pea size chip out of my paint on the driver's side. Any suggestions on how/where to get it fixed?

I've been reading about paint pens but not sure how well they work and how much work is invested into them. If there is any sanding involved I'd almost rather pay someone to do it professional and have them be liable for it if anything goes wrong.

My poor door....

Get a tube of touchup from the dealer. Unless your truck resides in a bubble you'll go broke paying someone to fix every little paint chip you get.

I'm the guy that always parks way in the back of the parking lot, away from all of the other cars..Had my truck since mid Oct 08' and haven't had a ding or chip yet ..
Oosik-- think about it like this...imagine you get the touch up paint and do your best job..is it still going to bother you every single time u get in the truck? I'd be willing to bet since it is on the driver's side, that you notice it every time you walk to get in your truck...
If you spent the extra $$ to take it to a shop, you would probably be alot happier with it in the long run.
You are only concerned with the money you'll spend at one time, after that you'll just be happy it looks legit

I'm that guy too, except one Easter Sunday a few years back, I parked in the furthest place in a parking lot(It was pretty windy that day) I was'nt in Walmart more than 5 minutes, somehow a shopping cart found its way against my door.$75 later a dentless repair guy made it look new again.Go figure, I still park far away still.........Kevin.

It has to be:

Backed In, A Corner Spot, Pulled Up In The Spot and make sure no carts around... If I could carry a bubble in the back of the bed I would!!!

My kids get part time jobs when we go shopping, they get to bring any carts within winds reach to the cart corral.I park like you LongIsland! I have a handicap sticker but find people think the little dude in the wheel chair must be a picture of a cart cuz there are always carts in the empty spots and next to my vehicle when I come out.

I always park UPGRADE from any shopping carts (or rolling things), on an end spot with my wheels right along the curb and in the far out north 40. Had my last truck 4 years no dings ever, same so far for my 09. I tell my wife, if you are going to park between 2 vehicles in a regular spot you might as well just get out and hit the sides with a ball peen hammer........and watch where the garbage man puts that trash can back in your drive way (dont ask).

I used to like parking in one particular mall if it snowed alot because they would pile the snow in spot and people would drive up with big 4x4's and after a while as long as you had 4x4 you could get up there, was great, but now my wheel chair is scarey, it would need a sled.

I forgot to mention if it makes you feel any better a few days after we got out truck we got a small dent in the front of the hood by the grille, no chip which I find strange but it when I found out the hood is vulnerable to dents cuz it is aluminum. I could put a bug deflector and hide it, had I had one I wouldn't have the dent. Few weeks later at a Petro Canada station they have a spot onthe top of the nozzle the us only good for them to put advertising and when it wears thru the plastic the metal hits the truck and put a small scratch. I called Petro Canada, sent them all the info they never responded. They guy at the Petro Canada was a complete arrogant lets put it this way I understand why there is a war right now.

How much do you think I might spend? I'll probably get it professionally done since it would bother me probably haha.

Sad thing is, I parked away from everyone but then the movie theater got packed while I was in there and came out and saw the lovely new addition to my door.

If they have to sand and load a paint gun then no way its going to be less than a couple hundred dollars.
