ok, usually 20% tint matches existing tinted glass on all stock manuf. vehicles. i always tint my front ones to match the rear.

now having said that. if you tint the front 20%. i HIGHLY recommend NOT going any darker than 35% on the windshield. it is hard as **** to see at night time. if its raining. good luck....

You can have the tint match, but if you really want the cops to leave ya alone, and your fronts are illegal, make the glass that has no laws darker. If you have 20% on the fronts, then throw 5% on the backs. What it will do is trick the eyes into thinking that the fronts aren't that dark. My truck has 5% all the way around with about a 8 inch flared brow on the front. To counteract the darkness, I have two layers of 5% on the back glass to trick people into thinking that the fronts are light. On a sunny day, people will ask what percent my front windows are and I say 5%, they normally don't believe it since it looks a lot lighter than it really is.

www.tintlaws.com That will give you the regulations that your state has put into place. If you really get worried, I would just go to an eye doc and claim you have sensitive eyes. Most if not all of them will write a script for said film. (Depends on if it's allowed in your state)

Now, another trick is to roll your windows down as soon as you see the lights come on. Don't make the cop nervous, and don't partially roll the windows down. It usually isn't a good idea to drive around town with the windows half way down, since a cop can see your head, and then gets too dark behind the glass. I've seen many people popped for their film just because they had the window half way down.

Better off looking at your states laws directly. That chart is over simplified and incorrect for MN.

I find it's easier just to search the state in question's laws... you may have to translate some "Legalese", but it's safer....

Here's the link to MN law.... 50% up front and whatever you want in the rear of a pickup...... Cars are 50% all the way around....

Mine are 15% and against the law. I have not ran into one cop that would write you a ticket though. Their tint is much darker than mine.
I even had a cop compliment me on the tint.

I had mine done last week, 35% is the legal limit up here in Canada, the shop doing the tint said 20% would match the rears but "might" result in a ticket.
Really happy with it, makes the truck look MUCH better IMO

We're lucky in Florida. Cops don't care. They know dark tint is needed in the hot sun.

I was going to say the exact same thing. I put 30% all the way around (except windshield) on my last vehicle, over top of the factory tint and it sure looked dark.

I think you're misktaken , the % amount is the amount of light the tint allows thru. The higher the number the lighter the tint.
I have MANY friends who are peace officers here in Ontario and the Legal Limit in Ontario is 35%
0% tint would be darker than limo tint which is 5%

My car has has 20% all around since it was 2wks old and I've never gotten a ticket for tint in it. It's 9yrs old now and has over 300,000kms on it
I just didn't want any hassles with my truck, so I went with the 35%

And one other thing we are NOT ALLOWED to tint the front windshield here in Canada :-(
