who knows what tint to use for front window?
I think you're misktaken , the % amount is the amount of light the tint allows thru. The higher the number the lighter the tint.
I have MANY friends who are peace officers here in Ontario and the Legal Limit in Ontario is 35%
0% tint would be darker than limo tint which is 5%
My car has has 20% all around since it was 2wks old and I've never gotten a ticket for tint in it. It's 9yrs old now and has over 300,000kms on it
I just didn't want any hassles with my truck, so I went with the 35%
And one other thing we are NOT ALLOWED to tint the front windshield here in Canada :-(

i know at least in MICHIGAN. its like that. i love it when people try to tell me that a certain perc. is legal.....lol.

Just to let you know here in VA 50% is what is allowed by law. I just had Llumar tint put on my front windows today and 50% is what is legal. I also added 5% to the front window for a sun visor since my truck didn't come with one. Every State is very different on there tint laws. Usually the farther south you go the more tint they will allow you. Your local tint shop will be able to tell you what is legal and what is not. Usually they will not warranty tint that is not legal.
Not sure if other states are like this, but in Alabama here is the law -
Windshield - 0% down 6"
Everywhere else - 32%
BUT in a Pickup/SUV it is okay to go to 0% on everything behind the front side windows.
I personally put a layer of 20% on everything but the windshield. That should have my rear doors and back glass at about 5% (20% of 20%).
