Default who knows what tint to use for front window?

I would like to match my front windows with the factory tint of the rear. Has anyone got the tint to "match" the rear windows?

Mine is tinted to match, the shop ran an 15% tint to match. The guy said anywhere in the 15-20% range would match well. Most shops only carry a few percentages anyway, so they should have something in the correct range, just take it to a shop and have them tell you exactly.

How do they actually tint the windows? Is it a film? If so, does it peel after a while?

Its a film they apply to the inside of the window. If you go to a good shop it shouldnt ever peel. If it does, most shops offer lifetime warranties on their services, atleast mine does. I had the shop limo tint my s2000 and they had to use a solution to peel the old film off, its on there pretty good.

I just had my front windows done with the Llumar Charcoal 15 tint and is a pretty close match to the factory one. Plus, Llumar has warranty for peeling or discoloring that can be use at any dealer that carries their brand.

Matched mine by applying Llumar Charcoal 5% on top of my rears, 5% on my fronts, and 35% on my windshield. Now they match.....they're all BLACK

Make sure you check your state regulations. Anything darker than 50% that didn't come from the factory is illegal in MN for front windows.

Yea, here in oregon you cant run anything darker than 30% or something. If i ever get pulled over i will just roll the windows down or take the "fix-it" ticket and get the shop to pull the 15% off, then a month later put it back on. It all depends on the officer that pulls you over.

The guys at the shop should know what to do to match.
