This is what I discovered, if you want high performance right off, get a Hemi, if you want a little horse power with slightly better MPG, get a 4.7.Just like anything else, its about what the market is bearing. It seems like the majority of Dodge Ram owners with a 4.7(flexfuel) engine are'nt purchasing a truck with high performance in mind. Myself and everybody else that buys a Hemi, are not buying it for MPG(flexfuel engines), we're buying it for the fact that it's a Hemi and if we get decent MPG, we're happy, give us the choice between MPG vs performance, guess what we're gonna choose.Just my 2 cents

That is what I was thinking as well but I do hope that the aftermarket world does give us something. Some of us just did not have the money for the Hemi when we bought our trucks. I am not trying to start an argument just saying that some of us still want more performance out of our 4.7. My other vehicle is a Commander with the Hemi and it is awesome! I wish I could have affforded to get another one but for now the 4.7 will have to do. Again not trying to start an argument and I completley agree with your point of view on the two different engines and performance. Happy Wheeling

All I can really say(I think you know this already)is bide your time, either more options for the 4.7 might become available. I don't remember what gears you have(don't recall if you posted that info) but installing a higher gear ratio will wake up most v8's.I also have a 00 GT Vert stang with a Mach 1 engine, when I switched from 3.73's to 4.30's,WOW, what a difference. The 3.73's were bad ***, the 4.30's were like a raped ape.

I agree I have the 3.92's in my truck. I test drove both the 3.55 and the 3.92. There wasn't an OMG difference but definetly a difference. I agree gears is proably the best route right now for anyone looking for more getup and go out of a 4.7. Good info.

Default What I've found for the 4.7L.

I've got the 4.7L and have been looking for some extras for it. It seems most products have been made for the Hemi but what I have found and plan on installing is an Airaid intake, Dynomax dual exhaust and a Daystar leveling kit. Other than new wheels, that's all I plan on doing. Jet does make a Stage 1 chip for the 4.7L. I'm not in it looking for huge performance gains but if I can add to what I do have, I'll take it.

Default Links to Jet Stage 1 and 2 performance chips

When I start at the Summit homepage and start selecting my search criteria it narrows it down to products that are available within my search parameters. When you look at the product it has a tab to search the vehicles it is applicable to and it says it will fit the 2009 385/4.7L.

Here is the link for the Stage 1: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/JET-90902/

and the Stage 2: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/JET-90902S/

I don't know about compatability of the 2008 chip with the 2009 truck.

The gears are stock and they came with the locker. In my opinion they are the only way to go on the 4.7. They do not wind out on the highway either. I run around 2000 rpm's between 65mph and 75mph and I still get 20 plus mpg's on the highway. As for the bumpers they drive me nuts. I do not understand why Dodge decided to save a few bucks here. I have been looking to get the black piece painted white and buy some chrome bumpers front and rear. Then I would like to put a leveling kit on the truck but I have not heard a lot of good feedback on them yet. That is all I am really looking to do with truck though since it is just 2wd and doesn't have the Hemi. I am hopin when I get my wives Commander paid for I can step up to an SLT 4x4 with the Hemi, only dreams for now!
