No doubt! Forged 20s for that price is almost unbelievable! (thus, my skepticism)

Now if they only had the Mopar forged 5-spoke wheels.... The 6-spoke looks nice, but I like the Mopar 5-spoke even better....

Just for the record, since I was Mister Skeptical before, I called OE Wheels LLC and asked them about the wheels they have for my truck.

I specifically asked about the 20s in that eBay auction. The guy said they are genuine Mopar wheels. I asked if they are cast or forged and he said he wasn't sure. He doesn't sell very many of them and so he doesn't know that much about them. I told him that Mopar wheels are forged and he said that then these are forged because they ARE the Mopar wheels.

They also have 22" chrome SRT wheels. I asked about those and he said that those are "replicas", not the actual Mopar item and that they are cast, not forged.

I can't see why he'd lie about one and not the other, so I'm inclined to believe the 20s really are forged.

Nice!!

Does anybody know what the weight is of the stock Laramie Chrome-clad Aluminum 20" wheels are, and how that compares to these Mopar 20s?

thats what i thought. they clearly stated when other rims were replicas etc....

also. im not big into ebay, but i do believe they could get in trouble legally selling something that is misleading when asked up front about it?

crod, you're right. But, since the eBay ad does NOT say that the wheels are forged, that's part of what made me suspicious. You would think that, if the wheels are forged, they would tout that in the ad. By not saying so, it made me suspicious that they are avoiding getting in trouble by letting you think they are forged, but not actually saying one way or another.

Now, after talking to them on the phone, I am inclined to just believe that they don't say it in the ad because they don't even know it. And don't care since, apparently, they only sell a couple of sets of these per month.

Hey Doc,

With those 24s you have on your truck, why do you have a set of these 20s?

"usually" you can tell right away if they are cast or forged when they are not mounted etc. it would take a lot of work to "hide" the casting marks.....

Doc,

20+ pounds each?? Seriously??!?! Is that from a scale or your calibrated arm?

All the other wheels I have checked say they're anywhere from 32 pounds on up to near 40, for a 20" wheel. If these really are well under 30, I think I'm going to have to ante up.

Thanks again for the info and the pics!
