Thank-you for the knowledge base on this forum and the correct part number!!!!

So it's mounted with no access to the manual brake lever? Hope you don't drive on ice. That controller should be sticking out about 2" so that you can use the lever.

For models without the center console, this is a handy mounting place where it can both be seen and reached.

Who mounted it like that?

I can clearly see the pocket from my seat. I guess the factory figures most others can too. But I do agree that the lever has to be accessable. The controller really doesn't have to stick out far at all due to the angle of the pocket. I can get a good 2" exposed on the bottom with the top front being flush mounted. The G2's lever moves in a straight line vs the P3 and Prodegy which have to swing in an arc. Has a better fit also due to the shape of the box.

Janet794 posted that picture of how her husband mounted his. I can't see that pocket at all unless the wheel is turned - with the steering wheel and seat set the way I like it.

The P3/Prodigy manual controls have always been a little inconvienient compared to other brands, but they are the best controllers I've used (never tried a G2)

If you look closely, there is a space on the bottom that is open to allow access to the bottom of the controller and the pulse switch.
My hubby just got home with the correct pigtail that connects to the truck. All ready to go! The next challenge is removing the cover from the camper that has over a foot of snow on it. We leave January 18th!
Good luck with your installation.
Thanks for the info!

For those that follow, the two bolts at the bottom of the dash can be removed with a Phillips head screwdriver or a 7mm socket.

That will let you get to one of the cubby screws. For the other, you just have to pull off the plastic panel on the left end of the dash. The piece this is normally covered by the door, when the door is closed. It just pulls straight out - no screws.

The 2 screws holding the cubby hole thingie in are Torx T20.

I've got mine out now. Looks like some plastic cutting will let me mount my Prodigy in that pocket without too much trouble. Good to know a replacement pocket is only $9, in case I ever need to put it back to stock.

The bezel is $9, not the pocket. That's why I went with the bezel.

Anyone have opinion on this controller?

Sure looks like it would fit nicely in the OEM slot and the manual lever is on the front of the unit much like the OEM.

Appears to use the same sort of technology as the Prodigy/P3. Never heard of anyone using them, and there don't appear to be any reviews online but they sure are cheap.

Looks like it is a single axis controller as is the Prodigy and P3. The Hayes G2 is a tri axis controller, some of the Valley products dual axis. Any of them would be fine for most people though over the time activated controllers.

Just ordered a G2 for $111.10, free shipping and a direct fit harness for the 09. Got it from Southwest Wheel, used coupon code "autoforums" for an extra 5% off.

Default brake control

It is hard to tell in the picture, but there is enough of an opening under the P3 to move the emergency lever. We are not very tall, I am 5'2" and my hubby is 5'6", so we are not far from the pocket to reach the lever in an emergency. The controller is as visible as it needs to be. We have bucket seats, so the options for mounting were quite limited. We do travel in the winter, but not during really wintry driving conditions. We have never had to use the emergency lever, thank goodness, so far in our traveling experiences. We are leaving in a week to travel from PA to CA, so we'll let you know how the new 2010 does in it's maiden voyage. Always an adventure or two!!!
